Great Engeham
Farm takes its name from the Engeham family who have a colourful history and have
played a major role in the development of Woodchurch. A notable event is the peasants
rebellion of 1450 under Jack Cade when an Alan Engeham was pardoned by the King
after agreeing to return home peacefully to Woodchurch.
Today
Great Engeham Farm offers comfortable accommodation in a recently converted farm
building in a location that is ideal to explore the ever changing countryside
and the magical villages of the Garden of England.
The
rolling hills of the North Downs with the Pilgrims Way through to the gently undulating
landscape of the Romney Marsh offer a diversity of terrain, colour and wildlife
to satisfy the enquiring nature of all who love the countryside.
